OUR IMPACT

Overview

Since 1990, we have had the honor of supporting hundreds, if not thousands, of individuals under 25 each year. Our mission spans 16 cities across 11 states and the nation's capital.

We offer essential and continuous resources through various channels: Street Outreach in 15 of our 16 locations, Outreach Centers in 8 locations, Mentoring in 7 locations, and Housing Support in 10 locations. Beyond these services, we are dedicated to assessing the needs of youth, connecting them with helpful resources, and assisting them in creating plans to escape challenging or unfair situations and move towards greater stability.

Once our youth secure housing or achieve their personal goals, we continue to support them as they adjust to the realities of managing an apartment, securing income, maintaining their health, and other critical aspects of well-being.

Our greatest asset is our extensive network of volunteers across the country. Some work behind the scenes as unsung heroes, while others actively engage as counselors, helping youth develop strategies to break free from the cycle of homelessness.

Success Factors

The United States Interagency Council on Homelessness has defined four essential outcomes for the youth we serve:

Stable Housing: Ensuring a safe and reliable home environment.

Permanent Connections: Building lasting relationships with families, communities, schools, and positive social networks.

Education and Employment: Supporting high achievement in education and training, and fostering stable employment, particularly for older youth.

Social and Emotional Well-being: Developing the skills, attitudes, and behaviors necessary for success in various aspects of daily life, including school, work, relationships, and community involvement.

We are committed to providing young people with access to these outcomes. Our real-life stories of working with the youth we serve illustrate that our sustained, trusting relationships significantly contribute to achieving these goals.

In 2023, we are collaborating with our Board and community experts to refine how we measure and track these outcomes and use this data to enhance our service delivery models.
