VOLUNTEER

Faith of a Mustard Seed is predominantly operated by volunteers. This not only sets us apart and strengthens our organization but also highlights our appreciation for your time. We are committed to making you feel like a cherished member of our community and are in great need of your time and skills.

A Range of Choices

• If you’re in a city where we operate, you may have the opportunity to directly support youth or contribute behind the scenes. Learn more about these options below.

• Additionally, qualified individuals can serve on a local advisory council or our national board.

• If you’re in a city where we don’t have a presence, consider starting a new program.

• For those interested in volunteering or interning at our national support office in Decatur, Georgia, please reach out to us for the latest opportunities.

Provide direct support as a counselor

Working with youth in our programs can profoundly impact your life. Volunteering not only brings personal fulfillment but can also make a crucial difference in a child's life. If you're interested in street outreach, outreach center programming, mentoring, or housing support (availability varies by location), Faith of a Mustard Seed offers 8 hours of classroom and online training to equip you with the skills to make a meaningful and safe impact.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, agree to a criminal background check (with a minor processing fee), complete a liability waiver, sign to accept certain policies, and provide three character references.

For details on specific volunteer needs and procedures in our local programs, please inquire directly. Alternatively, you can fill out a brief application to receive a follow-up from a local program.

Support from behind the scenes

For volunteers interested in working strictly "behind the scenes," Faith of a Mustard Seed offers a variety of roles,

including volunteer management, community partnership development, supply management, fundraising, office administration, and more.

A background check may be required depending on the role. Volunteers aged 16-18 can participate with signed parental consent.

Contact a local program for specific volunteer needs and the steps to get involved. Alternatively, you can complete a brief application to receive follow-up from a local program.
